What Matters - Protecting Our Environment and Natural Resources

I believe environmental protection is one of the most important responsibilities we have to future generations. Clean water, green space, healthy neighborhoods, and responsible development are not luxuries. They are part of what makes Onondaga County a safe and livable place to call home.

County government has a role to play in protecting natural resources, preserving open space, supporting sustainability, and making sure growth does not come at the expense of the environment. As development continues across our region, we need leadership that plans responsibly and considers the long-term impact of today’s decisions.

Protecting the environment is also about protecting people. Clean water, safe land use, and healthy communities affect public health, property values, recreation, agriculture, and the future we leave for our children.
