What Matters: Safe, Affordable Housing
I believe every person deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to live. Housing is the foundation for health, education, work, and family stability. When people are priced out, pushed into unsafe conditions, or forced to move from the communities they call home, the entire county feels the impact.
Onondaga County needs a serious approach to housing that includes affordability, quality, and safety. That means addressing unsafe housing conditions, supporting lead poisoning prevention, encouraging responsible development, and making sure growth does not leave working families, seniors, renters, and first-time homeowners behind.
Housing policy should be about people, not just buildings. Safe and affordable housing helps children succeed, keeps families stable, supports local employers, and strengthens neighborhoods across the county.
